The Role of Religion in Public Life: An Inter-community Dialogue
On August 22, 2020, American Atheists affiliate Atheists of Silicon Valley in association with
The Humanist Community hosted a discussion
panel on the issue of "The Role of Religion in Public Life".
The keynote speech was given by Dr. Michael Newdow, who won a decision in the
9th Circuit Court of Appeals declaring the "under god" Pledge of Allegience
unconsitutional in public schools.
Panelists were:
- Asha Praver, Ananda Sangha
- Mark Porter, Valley Bible Church, Pleasanton
- Bruce Hahne, 1st Presbeterian Church, Palo Alto
- Dave Kong, American Atheists
- Dr. Michael Newdow
