Election 2000 -- Politics and the Constitution
October 9, 2020
What are your thoughts on the November election? In this campaign, the
candidates of both major parties have attacked the separation of church and
state by proposing a wide range of "partnership" arrangements between
government and organized religion. Bashing Hollywood and the rest of popular
culture has also become an electioneering past time.
Atheists and state-church separationists can disagree on many issues,
including the question of who should occupy the White House. American
Atheist Magazine does not endorse partisan groups or causes; but we would
like to know your thoughts on the election, and stimulate an informed
discussion. Get background on the campaign from our FLASHLINE web site,
and learn more about "charitable
choice" and "faith-based
partnership".
This poll is now closed.
For those interested, American
Atheists will be speaking out on behalf of
First Amendment issues this Wednesday night, October 11 in Winston-Salem,
N.C. at the presidential debates.
